Lace Top Tube Protector
Free diy tutorial / knitting pattern. The top tube protector will be about 4 inches wide, make sure to measure your bike frame first! Gauge is about 13 stitches/4 inches.
Materials:
2 oz./65 yards of bulky weight yarn
US #10 straight needles (6.0 mm)
Tapestry needle
Instructions:
Cast on 13 stitches
Row 1: *k1, yo, k4, sk2po, k3, yo, k2*
Row 2 and all even rows: Purl entire row
Row 3: *k2, yo, k3, sk2po, k3, yo, k2*
Row 5: *k3, yo, k2, sk2po, k3, yo, k2*
Row 7: *k4, yo, k1, sk2po, k1, yo, k4*
Row 9: *k5, yo, sk2po, yo, k5*
Repeat until it is long enough to cover your frame adequately
Using your tapestry needle and some spare yarn, sew it up and weave in the ends.
Terms used:
yo= yarnover
sk2po= slip one, knit w together, pass slipped stitch over
